Mommys Day Out #DaytriptoChic

My fellow blogger Tara Marzuki who is hosing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cork with us in October, did this really fun video for Kildare Village's #DaytriptoChic campaign and it inspired me to have a Mommy's Day Out and treat myself to some bargains for my new post pregnancy wardrobe.

With a wardrobe that doesn't fit me anymore and a Summer of house-bound days awaiting the arrival of our baby and resting my broken ankle, I was well overdue a day of cheery shopping! Baby Erin has arrived, my ankle is healing and I have to get ready for Mercedes-Benz MSL Fashion Week, so I headed to Kildare Village today in search of some new pieces for my fashion week Autumn Winter wardrobe. Only 90 minutes away, Kildare Village is one of my favourite shopping destinations outside of Cork city with so many great bargains there. Here were some of my favourites:
My new favourite clutch- Lulu Guinness €312 (ORP €480)
LK Bennett baby pink Riley heels €125 (ORP €325)
All Saints hand beaded cocktail dress €305 (ORP €618)
All Saints suede oversized folio clutch €77.50 (ORP €155)
All Saints have a great offer this weekend where you get 20% off if you buy 2 garments and 30% off if you buy 3, so I invested in some great quality staple tops    for this.
Cute LBD from Ted Baker, great for Christmas parties €249 (ORP €375)
And my favourite purchase was this pair of Nike hightops down from €82 to €57 + a further 30% off today. Yay!
I had a lovely lunch with Erin and her Daddy didn't leave empty handed either! In all, a successful day of bargain hunting xo
My handsome hubby in his All Saints olive jacket. Great bargains in menswear at Kildare Village.

Sleepless Nights and Non Stylish Days

I had to go to town today to do some work for Fashion Week but I had been up all night with baby Erin so sunglasses & comfy clothes were my go-to style. I bought these floral Dr Martens in a gorgeous show boutique in Portabello in London that I visit every year for great shoes. The jacket is H & M and the black box clutch is from The Dress Bar - just the right size for my mobile phone and lip balm.

It's 5.40am as I post this. Erin is asleep mid-winding on my lap making adoreable baby noises and her Daddy is asleep on the other side of me. Having a newborn is such a culture shock for someone like me who enjoyed LOTS of sleep but happy moments like these with my little family are worth it all. Hi to any other Mommys out there on the night shift 😘👶 xo

Dressing Inside Out & other dilemmas

Today I met the girls with our babies for brunch & I turned up half asleep with my top on inside out!

I am too busy enjoying being a new Mum and dealing with the rollercoaster joys & challenges that having a newborn brings, to care about getting my pre baby body back just yet. So casual, comfy clothes are my go-to wardrobe for now. I love this grey animal print waterfall light jacket from the new stock for Autumn at River Island hides a multitude...and you can't wear it inside out 😂 xo

Fashion Week Campaign

We shot the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cork campaign today and it felt great to get back into it after having the baby. I am Co-Director of Fashion Week with Viv so it's our favourite time of the fashion calendar here in Ireland as we meet new designers and talent each year, as well as bringing together all our friends  and colleagues in business locally for a great week of events.

I dropped Erin to her Nana and although it was hard for me to leave her for the first time, I knew she was in great hands having fun out in the sun with Mum and her doting Grandad playing with her at lunch. I brought her in to meet everyone at the end of the shoot so I'm starting her young :)

We used Simone from our agency along with the new Miss Ireland Jess Hayes as the models for this years Fashion Week campaign. Viv rounded up a lovely sprinkling of clothes from some local boutiques that will feature in the fashion week opening show. Here is a teaser of some pictures from behind the scenes. We are really excited to share the images soon, they will feature in an editorial in next months RSVP magazine also.

Here Kitty Kitty

Slightly obsessed with this new kitten print dress that arrived today from ASOS. I bought it from their new collection and contrasted the girlie colours in it with edgy silver winkle picker ankle boots that are from the Underbround label, also available on ASOS. My ring is a real dried daisy in a glass orb handmade by one of my favourite a Irish jewellery designers, Ruby Robin Boutique, check out their amazing collection here.

When Internships Go Right

With fashion internships receiving negative press recently for taking advantage of free labour and offering very little decent training in return, I was delighted to see one of my favourite bloggers announce a collaboration with the retail chain she interned with four years ago.
After interning at a River Island, fashion blogger 5inchanddup will launch her shoe collection with a River Island this Autumn and judging from her great style eye, I can't wait to shop the collection in November!

If it's good enough for Kimye...

My friends at Le Chat Noir Vintage Events hosted a great vintage fair yesterday as part of a huge sunny picnic & family day out at Castlemartyr Resort, the magnificent Irish hotel that was the first stay for Kimye when they began their Irish honeymoon in Cork this year. The Le Chat girls have teamed up with Viv & I to produce some amazing shows for Fashion Week the past few years and this sunny event was true to their unique & professional touch. My favourite purchase was a ring made by Ruby Robin Boutique jewellery with a real dried daisy in a glass orb. Will post pics later and a little about this jewellery brand as it's a treasure of a find. Hope you enjoy the photos from my gallivanting yesterday xo
