I was invited to present a really unique fashion show during the black tie dinner at the IT@Cork Tech event this week at City Hall. A really interesting Dublin company called LoveandRobots.com showcased beautiful 3D printed jewellery. Irish owned by sisters Aoibheann, Emer and Kate, these three unstoppable business women combined their computer science backgrounds with their architecture skills to establish their forward thinking brand and now sell personalised 3D goods such as cuff links, necklaces in gold or silver, costume jewellery, map coasters, clocks, personalised phone covers and even clocks. Scroll through a taster of some of their pieces below and check out my cute name chain at the end, these can be ordered in any colour.
Showcasing three 3D printed and laser cut garments from her graduate collection was fashion designer Rachael Garrett. The LSAD student created her garments with the help of the Fab Lab cultural and creative space in Limerick and it was the first time I have seen 3D printed clothing that was wearable. I need one of Rachael's stunning pieces in my wardrobe. These dresses would have stood head and shoulders above some of the style at this weeks Met Ball Gala!
Thanks to The Dress Bar for my full length black gown and a special thanks to the IT@Cork team for inviting us along to host such a lovely show and for supporting Irish Design talent and highlighting the very exciting future of both Tech & Fashion.
