Updated Denim at GAP

Originally designed for cowboys and miners, denim is a fabric that has been reinvented and reworked more times than Madonna and survived the test of time as a fabric, since it's invention in 1871 by Jacob Davis.  Whether your favourite fit is skinny, cigarette, bootcut, tapered, cropped, flared, boyfriend, girlfriend, high waisted or low rise, there is no denying that jeans are a staple in everyone's wardrobe. James Dean popularised jeans in the 1950s in Rebel Without a Cause but it wasn't until the 1960s that they were deemed acceptable attire and the ban on wearing denim in theatres, restaurants and schools was lifted. My uniform for all moods or weather, especially since becoming a busy Mother, is a pair of skinny jeans and a cable knit sweater or leather jacket and Converse or boots. I popped into GAP this morning and styled some denim looks from their gorgeous new stock for Winter. I came away with gorgeous soft skinny jeans and a cream oversized cable knit sweater which I will pop on the blog soon but for now I hope some of the below casual looks inspire you to cool-up your daytime wardrobe. p.s. how cute is Viv's little baby bump in these pics! xo
