Think of Me by Lauryn Rose

I don't blog a lot about jewellery as there are so many trends and different brands out there but when I find a brand I love, I tend to wear it ALOT. While browsing some other Irish bloggers pages, I noticed a gorgeous Irish brand pop up that all the cool clique were wearing. Then when working backstage at Lorraine Keane's 'Keane on Style' in Dublin earlier this year, I met the brand owner and got to browse the collection in person. Bridging the gap between high street and high-end fashion, Lauryn Rose is an Irish jewellery brand with great quality pieces, next day delivery and the prettiest packaging on the market. Their 'Think of Me' collection is my favourite. This collection represents love for those closest to us and has delicate male and female charms in elegant, high grade 925 sterling silver and rose gold finishes. Madeline Mulqueen launched the collection which generously donates 10% of the sale of each piece to the LauraLynn Children's Hospice to help vulnerable Irish children in need. I am giving away the below two gorgeous pieces from the Think of Me' collection.  These pieces are my personal favourites, the statement male charm necklace and the more delicate rose gold female charm on the leather necklace, so just head over to my Facebook page here to enter & good luck! (You can browse all the charms from the collection here). xo

Panelist at the Irish Blogger Conference

I was delighted to be invited to join Lorraine Keane, Brendan Courtney and Ellie Balfe on the panel at the Irish Blogger Conference last Saturday in Dublin. Meeting other bloggers and hearing what inspires them, how they work and to swap tips with bloggers across all mediums was really beneficial. While I was on stage talking about my 19 years experience working in fashion in Ireland with the afore mentioned panel, I did have a 'wow I can't believe I am up here with people I admire so much in the industry' moment and had to pinch myself. It was lovely backstage catching up with Brendan and Lorraine and Lorraine's gorgeous daughter Amelia. Thanks to Fiona and her fab team at the Irish Blogger Association for having me along again this year as a guest speaker. Watch this space for a Southern Conference soon!I got lots of messages and comments about my flamingo dress and it was from Love Cherish, winners of Occassion Wear Boutique of the Year with Frockadvisor and Pose this year, you can visit them here.
(Sorry about the low quality photos but I was too busy chatting and working to get photos!)

Sneaker Freaker

I have spent the last month procrastinating about which of my trainer collection deserve to stay in my wardrobe for the coming season and which should be relegated to the attic. New Balance reigned supreme for a long time and are still my go-to pair for style and comfort but what about the Free Runs, Roshes, Cons and Stan Smiths? The blogosphere has finally spoken and the cool clique online have crowned the Tubular range from Adidas as the new must-have sneaker. Cheaper and more accessible than Ye's Yeezy Boost, these trainers are the new black. I'm not 100% sure about them yet but have a look here and see what you think!

We were so thrilled to be announced WINNERS of last week's Fashion Independents Day organised by our favourite Irish fashion destination app Frockadvisor. We visited as many local independent boutiques against the clock and against the other national influencers who were covering their cities and towns. We won the 'Most Retweeted' category for all our photos on the fashion trail that day, so a huge thank you to the shops, our followers and all the customers who came out to support such a super day to celebrate local SME's and Independent Business. Supporting Irish is a sure way to keep our talent in Ireland and keep business doors open creating jobs in fashion in Ireland and it was an honour to do our bit to help promote Fashion Independents Day, thank you Brendan & Sonya xo

Irene O'Brien's Communion Jewellery Picks from Newbridge Silverware

I was back on the RTE Today Show, Ireland's most watched daytime TV show on Friday modelling beautiful jewellery pieces for stylist Irene O'Brien. I was joined by my TV kids, models Lucy and Clara pictured below who both modelled Communion jewellery from Newbridge Silverware. Irene was one of our guest presenters at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cork over the last few years and her  knowledge and eye for vintage fashion is what sets her apart as one of the best stylists in Ireland. The versatile Newbridge pieces I modelled were definitely pieces I would wear myself and could be dressed up for Communion Mums or down for everyday wear. The children's jewellery was really special, I remember how grown up I felt wearing jewellery on my Communion Day. To book Irene O'Brien click here. I am a Fashion Crusader for FIDay !

The Frockadvisor Fashion Independents Day launch was a fantastic event in Dublin earlier this week at new stylish bar Zozimus. I loved catching up with Brendan Courtney, Sonia Lennon and the other Fashion Crusaders that Viv and I will join on Thursday 21st April when we visit a large amount of our local independent boutiques against the clock with help from a Hailo driver. We will be tweeting from each boutique, promoting Irish Independent retail so join us over on Twitter and get retweeting next Thursday. Annmarie O'Connor won last year on the Cork route so we are planning Cork for the Double again this year. We are literally bursting with excitement for #FIDay.

A Week of Fashion Adventures

It was great to be back on the RTE Today Show set this week modelling again, it has been two years since I was on and I had a little baby bump the last time. How time flies.
Thanks to Dee Kelly Morgan for having me on to model her pretty Confirmation looks for Mums from Mahon Point Shopping Centre. I am on the show again this week so looking forward to filming it. It is always such a fun experience and the crew and staff are so lovely. Erin was having her dinner and Timmy put the segment on the TV. He said when Erin saw me on the screen she said 'Mama?' and as looking around the house for me, she couldn't understand how I was in the TV. Too cute! Visit the Mahon Point Shopping Centre  to book Dee for personal shopping FREE of charge here.

I also organised a customer evening to celebrate 100 Years in Business at Crowleys Opticians on the Grand Parade. I will have some really great press photos from that event on my Facebook and Instagram over the next week so keep an eye out. I am off to Dublin on Tuesday for the Fashion Independents Day launch with Frockadvisor. I am honoured to be chosen as one of the Fashion Crusaders with Viv this year in Ireland. Lots of coverage from that event on my snapchat Tuesday night in Dublin so follow me @irishfashaholic. Thanks to my friends at Origin Hair Design for brightening up my blonde locks for Dublin. With a busy life and a toddler it's hard to find 'me time' these days but they always look after me so well in Origin.

I have had so many opportunities and calls from business owners in fashion the past week to help them expand their own businesses and I feel so grateful to be doing what I love.  Thank you! Have a great week xo

Upcycling Clothes

I am a big fan of how Kate Midleton isnt  afraid to rewear her designer garments for many seasons. If the garment is a good buy, it should stand the test of time. I bought this grey long sleeveless jacket last year in COS but lost the baby weight and never got to wear it as it was too big and shapeless. So I took it to the Zipyard to have it altered. Geno pinned it on me to see how much it needed to be taken in and it was ready for me in 24 hours. It cost less than €20 to alter and it's like a new coat. I am delighted with how it turned out and really impressed with the service. Don't be afraid to give good garments a new lease of life and get them altered. I am going to get so much wear out of this now as it is such a versatile piece!

How Times Change

Having a baby was something I feared after years of independence and having nobody to answer to but myself. Sure, the game changed once Erin arrived. For the first few months, heading outside to the big bad world was a task where bags had to be packed, routes planned around nap times, trips were cut short over screaming colic sessions and suitable places to go seemed less and less appropriate at feeding time. But now my 20 month old daughter is full of fun and character, surprising us with new words every day, loves being out and about and is my best buddy. Family days like St. Patrick's Day are no longer day and night pub celebrations with hangovers the next day, they have a different meaning. They are all about Erin. And she has opened another little place in my heart I didn't know existed that makes me so happy...when she's happy. To everyone out today for the little people in their lives, I hope you had a special day and are happy at home putting your tired little ones to bed. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Kerry Fashion Week

I am just back from the most wonderful night at The Europe last night for Kerry Fashion Week. Some of the most well known and hardworking faces in fashion were at the show and it was lovely to catch up with everyone. Massive congrats to Orla Diffly on putting in such a superb event. I know first hand the work and heart that goes into producing a Fashion Week so I was really impressed  by all she has donee promote Irish design. Thanks for nominating me in the Irish Fashion Blog of the Year category also. It was such a fun night and I have a list as long as my arm of garments I want from the collections shown. Kerry women really know how to dress, the style was so impressive. Waking up in the magical surroundings of the Europe was a bonus this morning, Erin loved her 5* trip.
My outfit was from Blush Boutique, shoes from Caris Closet and earrings from Isobela Ru.
Congrats to my friends Miss Daisy Blue on scooping the Irish Independent Fashion Retailer of the Year and Helen Quealy Murphy on winning Best Dressed in her gorgeous Synam O'Mahony.
