Style on our Doorstep

I am in awe of Bronwyn Connelly at Wear We Wander after today's Irish Design show in The Blue Haven, Kinsale. She pulled together a huge tribe of us that all graft hard in fashion in Ireland and Sonya  Lennon came from Dublin to present the show. What a gorgeous show of local craftsmanship and Irish designers. I was lucky enough to film interviews with the designers who took part thanks to Bronwyn, so I can't wait to share those clips and stories about people making great strides in fashion in Ireland soon. Thanks to Frockadvisor and Wear We Wander for having our model agency along to showcase the beautiful collections and brands. Here are some photos from the day and visit the designers websites below xo

Supporting Irish Design

Today is the Frockadvisor & Wear We Wander show in Kinsale, supporting Irish craft and design. I will be backstage with my models and the designers so follow my @irishfashaholic Snapchat for coverage backstage of the show that will be presented by Sonya Lennon.

Frockadvisor, Ireland's only Fashion app supporting independent boutiques and designers have teamed up with online Ethical Fashion Boutique, Wear we Wander, to bring a showcase and celebration of the very best in Irish Fashion Design in the stunning setting of Aperitif at The Blue Haven, Kinsale. Preview SS16 Collections from well known Irish Designers including Alice Halliday, Charlotte & Jane, Wear we Wander, Celtic Fusion, Mamukko,&  Helle Helsner.

Frockadvisor is the brain child of Fashion Gurus Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon. Their careers have included TV broadcasting, styling, journalism and designing. Using all that knowledge, they developed frockadvisor, through a deep understanding of the industry and a clear sense of what the customer wants. Independent retailers, designers and their customers are driven by a common search for something different. Fashion is magic and the experience of being advised and assisted by people who you respect and trust is much more beautiful than simply pressing ‘buy it now’. Frockadvisor is pioneering a new kind of customer experience and providing boutique and designers an opportunity to connect with fashion lovers on a whole new level.

Frockadvisor is delighted be involved with anything that promotes beautiful things produced and sold by beautiful people. Wear We Wander's Bronwyn is an inspiration, bringing together the bright stars of Irish Design in the beautiful setting of Kinsale.

Body Beautiful

I get lots of you asking what beauty products I love so here is my run down of what I use from day-to-day for the body. The cost of your beauty products does not matter - finding the products that agree with your skin and enhance how you look and feel is more important. Some of the cheapest brands out there carry great products. I also find that if I use a product for a very long time (eg. over a year) my skin gets too used to it and it doesn't have the same affect so I try out new products all the time as beauty evolves and brands bring us great products year after year.

My post today is the shower post. I have lots of events on at the moment so like to use a slight layer of tan to get rid of my casper white glow. I prefer to find natural products with low or no chemicals (hard I know!) so my favourite tan is this Tan Organic oil tan.  I started using it when I got pregnant two years ago and fell in love with it. It doesn't smell stinky, doesn't go on blotchy and wears off lovely. The biggest win for me is that the shade isn't too dark on my pasty skin.

I am super afraid of strong smelling products in the shower as that amount of chemicals can't be good for our naked skin. If I can't understand ingredients on the back of a product, I don't buy it! So I adore the Jason range of natural products. This Rosewater giant shower gel lasts me ages, smells like Summer and has no scary chemicals in it. You can buy it in most Supervalu stores or health food stores. And finally, I can't live without a nice body cream, body butters are my guilty pleasure. I am using this Yes To Carrots nourishing Body Butter. It makes my skin like velvet, smells delicious and doesn't have any scary ingredients like other brands. That's it for today, I am off to a studio shoot and then to MC a Wedding Fair for lots of lovely brides-to-be at The Clarion Hotel, so follow me on Snaptchat for my fashion antics today: @irishfashaholic xo

6 Gorgeous Spring Looks from Blush

Spring is here,  fashion weeks are in full swing and new stock is finally everywhere we look. I know most of us head to the high street to buy a dress when we have a night out but I have always been a huge fan of the local, independent boutique. With really well made clothes that you won't bump into lots of other people wearing on a night out, these boutiques have prices that give many high street stores a run for their money. I popped into Blush with Jennifer today and took some photos of a few looks that I really liked from their new stock. Ideal for any Communions/Confirmations/Spring and Summer events you have this year. Full outfit details listed below. I also managed to find an outfit for the Kerry Fashion Week awards so I can't wait to share that with you soon. Happy Weekend xo

Irish Fashion Blog of the Year Finalist

I am honoured to find out today that I have been announced as a finalist in the Irish Fashion Blog of the Year category at the 8th Annual Kerry Fashion Week.

As a huge supporter of Irish fashion, I am really looking forward to meeting so many other people working in the Irish industry on March 4th at the Europe in Killarney. It is great to be listed with so many talented Irish designers, stylists, makeup artists and business owners. My friends at Miss Daisy Blue, Caroline Mathews, Phoenix V and Isobella Rue and are also nominated so congrats to them all, well deserved.

Thanks for nominating me - roll on Kerry Fashion Week 2016! I never get to attend these Irish events and not be working so I have never looked forward to an event so much - I think my fingertips will fall off from all the Snapchatting & Instagramming from the event!

Visit the KFW website to see a full list of finalists and to buy tickets here xo

The traditional footwear of The Netherlands is having a moment this season with both magazine pages and celebrity feet covered in clogs. This was never a trend I gravitated towards, even in the 90s when my friend Sonia in school made them look so cool. I remember having a pair on a family holiday in Portugal but felt clunky and loud in them. Now that Alexa has given them her seal of approval I may be ready to give them another whirl. The last two pairs from Free Peoole below are my favourite! What do you think?

Keane on Style

Last weekend we headed for Dublin for Irish broadcaster and journalist Lorraine Keane's fashion event Keane On Style. Viv and myself headed off early with two cars of models and we had a really great day at the event. Seeing so many bright colours creep into this season's collections and saying goodbye to the dark hues of Winter is the best feeling in the World. Most of the photos I managed to take on the day are backstage shots of our models behind the scenes. The first few are gorgeous dresses from Divine Boutique in Maynooth and the rest are images of one of my favourite Irish Designers, Catriona Hanly dressing her collection before it hit the runway. Thanks to Lorraine Keane for having us along, she is such a pleasure to work with! xo
